Disney Princesses Re-imagined as Successful Career Women!

by Eva Everett June 04, 2018

The Disney Princess fad has been one of the most successful marketing campaigns ever. It’s had little girls excited, but it’s left some parents cringing. Here at Svaha, we’re all about empowering messages to kids, which is why we LOVE what Matt Burt has created. Matt is a graphic designer from Raleigh, NC who has re-imagined the Disney princesses as career women.

Anna and Elsa - Climate Change Scientists

Snow White - Leading Psychologist.

Aurora - Coffee Company CEO.

When asked which was his favorite, Burt said, "I would have to say that Jasmine is my favorite. Her job, in particular, stood out to me as a great fit for her personality. Also, her overall style for the artwork made her my favorite."

Jasmine - U.N. Ambassador.

Ariel - Record Producer

"Since they have such an impactful role in society, I felt that it was important to show them as strong women and women who are successful on their own," he added.

Cinderella - Animal Rights Activist
Moana - Officer in the Navy
Tiana -Chef and Restaurateur.

Rapunzel - Neurologist.

Mulan - Title IX Lawyer.

Belle - University Chancellor.
He purposefully chose to show the princesses in traditionally male-dominated fields. He wants to show girls that "princesses" can also be bosses!

Pocahontas - Head of a Non-Profit Focused on Protecting the Environment.

Merida - Olympian Archery & Equestrian"
"I've had people from across the world messaging me and telling me how much the artwork means to them," he said. "I hope these will serve as an inspiration for others to pursue their dreams."

His work is amazing and we agree! We need more empowering messages for kids, That is why we launched our Self-Rescuing Princess collection!
