Celtic Paisley Maxi Dress with Pockets

Lovely pattern, great length; ripped right away

"After admiring coworkers' Svaha dresses, I was eager to purchase my own. The Celtic print, with an eggplant purple background, is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, despite being correctly sized, the dress immediately popped stitches at both pockets as I pulled it over my head to try it on, and one pocket ripped out entirely as I pulled it back off. On, it fits nicely, roomy without looking baggy. I am able to mend the holes, but this is a grave disappointment for a new garment. Weak thread or an error in cutting? It was on sale, and I am wondering if that is why."

Gappy arm holes

"The pattern is lovely, the fabric is comfortable, I love the pockets and the fit is accurate and good— except for gaping gappy arm holes that show off my undergarments. Rather than return this gift I’ll likely have to hand sew some darts to try to fix the problem. This may be just what happens with larger sizes, so I’ll avoid sleeveless Svaha products in the future. The sleeved ones are great."

Size up

"I love my Svaha twirl dresses. This is my first dress this style. I just fit a size medium twirl dress and I was glad for the suggestion from others to size up for this dress. Large fit perfectly without being tight in any way that was unflattering. And the arm holes are not so big that they show off my bra as is often an issue with sleeveless tops/dresses. I'm 5'8". It came to above my ankles. I carry most of my extra weight in my belly and usually prefer twirl dress silhouette but the fit and was very flattering and it was nice to have a change. I also loved the print and thought it elevated the dress and made it perfect for a night out. And of course the pockets. Not the same as the twirl dress and perhaps a bit smaller but still generous and very functional and appropriate to this dress style."

Poor design under the arms

"I loved the pattern and style of this dress and after reading the reviews, sized up from a 2x to a 3x. The dress fits nice except for the armholes which gape horribly. Under the arm the material hangs out about 3 inches and does not fit close to the body at all. I have an average size bust line and have not had issues like this with other dresses or clothes. My bust size would need to increase 3x to get rid of the gap. I really love this dress and am debating on just having it altered and keeping it."

Great quality. . . . but a problem with the fit.

"The material, pattern, colors, and pockets are lovely. It is a nice cut. However, my friend found the sizing to be a bit off. You might want to go up a size if you are used to the fit of a twirl dress or a fit and flair. My friend returned her dress like this. But the pattern is so lovely I'm probably going to gift her a twirl dress in this pattern or a long tunic cause the fit in those is so good on many body types."
