Very Pretty Pattern. . . . but so sad it's MAXI on me
"To begin, the dress is beautiful-looks alone, it's a solid 10. The pattern is colorful and well conceived, The Materials are great quality, and the pockets are amazing. I have been looking forward to getting this pattern since we got the sneak peak in the LIVE a while ago. Unfortunately, I am giving it a 4 star rating because of fit things that are directly related to my body- if you are taller and more slender you will look great in this dress -also if you are a short person looking for a maxi dress, buy this. It is truly lovely. That said. I am short - 5'1". This pattern is only available as a Midi twirl- I thought it would be maybe 2 to 4 inches longer than a standard twirl (like the Lava Falls petite twirl) but this dress is a full on 8 inches longer than a standard twirl. That means it's floor length on me. Additionally, the skirt is narrower than a 3/4 circle should be. My biggest figure challenges are too much junk in the trunk and a large belly. I count on the voluminousness in the skirt to mask my 'sins'. In the attached picture you'll see the footprint of this dress, as compared to a standard twirl. Compared to the standard twirl It is missing about 6 inches of 'volume' right where I want it most. As I said, the pattern is a hit. I hope they bring it out in a style that works better for me (skater dress, standard twirl, fit and flare, or petite twirl. ) Sigh. . . ."
