"I haven't received the dress yet, but I just have to say that the pattern should be called "Phonology", not "Phonetics", because the IPA symbols are in forward slashes (/a/) rather than square brackets ([a]). Phonology and Phonetics use the same symbols and use the difference in notation to distinguish meaning. In phonetics, we describe the actual sounds used in a language (and how they are articulated, etc), whereas in phonology, we look at the patterns in the way a language uses those sounds and look at which sounds make a meaningful difference (ie: /l/ and /r/ are distinguished in English but not in Japanese). Sorry, make dresses for nerds, you have to expect the nerds to show up :) Thank you for making a linguistics pattern."

I was nervous about the sleeves, because sleeves are often kinda tight on me - especially ones cut like this, however they fit wonderfully and i was comfy all night! i wore it to work last wednesday evening, which is the day i teach my adult ESL students about phonetics. Phonetics

"The purple, green, and white is an interesting combination of some of my favorite colors. I always want to buy clothing with letter patterns on it (although that is rare to find), so this dress was a must for me. The twirl style is easy to wear and flattering as always. About me: I am a Svaha megafan and own many Svaha dresses. The twirl and maxi designs work best with my top heavy body shape. I love the fun, quirky, pretty, and nerdy fabric patterns. I have fibromyalgia with severe heat sensitivity, so I look for clothing that is comfortable and helps me to regulate my body temperature better. The cotton content of these dresses is a blessing to me. I also love the pockets and show them off regularly when I receive compliments. My favorite response is to explain that the pocket on my right can hold a puppy and the pocket on the left can hold a kitten. For daily living, I appreciate that my phone and other items stay safely tucked inside. I collect and wear hats, too. The colorful designs make it easy to find a hat to wear with each dress. I do size up one size from my average clothing size since I am larger chested to get the best fit. I machine wash the dresses and line dry with no problems."

Q&A

How thick is the fabric? Super light weight, more like a t-shirt, or a thick t-shirt? Do they shrink?
The fabric is in between being lightweight and thick. Our dresses are preshrunk, so they shouldn’t shrink; however, there may be up to 3% shrinkage after washing.
