One of my favorites to date!
"I requested this dress be made in this print, and I’m thrilled to be wearing it! I’m planning for jewelry & hair accessories to match it better, but this is what I threw on for fun. Darker accessories (think black choker/neclaces & belt, dark duster/cardigan/jacket & boots) could give this sweet pastel print more of a trendy gothy/witchy edge, playing off the crystals & moths in the pattern, if you want. Or it can look more sweet & mystical with traditional jewelry paired with the gold moth & moon earrings Svaha currently has. I love how it is cozy for fall weather with the 3/4 sleeves, but also keeps the sun & heat off in hot weather, while having a breezy skirt, that protects your legs if you sit in the grass. I can pair it with leggings & boots in winter, and their cardigans still go easily over the sleeves (I wear medium in their cardigans) without being bulky or constricting under a coat. I *hate* bunching up constricting sleeves under a coat, but these work great. This dress looks great with the royal blue shorter length cardigan they have currently, or the constellations burnout cardigan. I’m sure people will enjoy pairing it with the other cardigan colors, too. Svaha cotton is breathable & never pills, but is thick enough that I can wear dark colored bras & underwear under even a light colored/white based print like this. I tested it out with this dress again, and no show-through. It’s sturdy & allows you to put weight in your pockets (full 16 oz insulated metal water bottle is no problem. ) I avoided light colors forever because I’m constantly getting my clothes dirty & I hate extra work on laundry day. BUT, I ended up purchasing the North American Birds print dress that also has a white background, and then got an extra so I could garden in it because it was so comfy to garden in on sunny days. The one I got for gardening in got completely soaked through in mud, and to my shock, washed completely clean with no evidence of staining without much extra effort besides a quick rinse to get the caked on stuff off, and pouring a bit extra laundry soap on it. I can’t even tell which dress is my “good” dress & which is my gardening dress. So, NOW I’m ordering the light colored Svaha dresses with no worries or reservations. Plus, this gorgeous print has enough going on that even if I spill some food on it early in the day, it won’t be immediately obvious. Sizing: I’m 5’3”, about 138 lbs, smaller bust (about 34”), 30” waist, bigger hips (about 42”. ) I’m wearing a size small (my usual twirl dress, skater dress, fit & flare dress, and wrap dress size in Svaha. ) It also fits my 5’11” wife beautifully! The pockets are a dream. So deep I never have to worry about something falling out, and no matter how much I put in them, the full skirt hides it & still makes in comfortable to move & bend any which way. Better than zippered cargo pants pockets or overalls pockets. They make my day so much easier & I feel less encumbered, no matter what I’m doing. On top of this, Svaha has the most delightful customer service I’ve ever worked with, and my first dress I ordered 7 years ago & wear all the time, still looks like new. They really are worth it."
