The Apollo 11 lunar mission was the first lunar landing of the Apollo program. The point of the mission was to achieve a manned lunar landing and return safely to Earth. The lunar module had 2 parts, the ascent and the descent stage. The ascent stage was where the crew lived and operated from, and was used to return the crew to orbit and CSM after the operations were completed. The descent stage contained the engine that helped land on the moon. Many events and steps had to happen during this mission with the launch which started on July 16th, then the translunar injection, CSM-LM docking, lunar orbit insertion, CSM-LM separation, and lunar landing. After the landing, the extravehicular activity (EVA) began, leading to the first step on the surface, then the lunar liftoff, LM-CSM docking, transearth injection, and lastly the splashdown. If your mission is to find a scientifically informative t-shirt, you have landed in the right place!
