Reading Spectacles Rosalind Dress
Look spec-tacular in this dress!
From librarians and teachers to lawyers and doctors, glasses are a vital part of seeing the important aspects in life, both for careers and every day use. Looking pieces created in order to help one see better go back to the BC era, which involved a variety of glass magnification objects in order to help us read texts. Over time, these objects transformed into magnifying glasses, and then double magnifying glasses that were encased in wood or bone, and placed on the bridge of one’s nose. The official first wearable reading aid came to be in the 13th century AD, and it’s clear to see why we are grateful for this invention!
