This is the first Svaha

"This is the first Svaha dress that I wore of the 3 that I ordered. So. Much. Fun! It is a bright color and the sea creatures are lovely, but the comedic factor of the little sea-diving black cats brought a smile all day. I originally ordered XL sizes going by the measurements of the dress listed in the size chart, but was overwhelmed with the enormous sag of the fit. My husband looked at the extra fabric I grabbed on each side and said it was 6" too big for me, so I exchanged them for mediums. Those are a little snug on my chest and ribcage (I'm an apple shape), but they do stretch a bit and are comfy all day. I am on a weight-loss journey, so they'll be perfect "soon. " lol I may be 62, but the twirl factor is still a lot of fun. My husband said that the dresses are so feminine and pretty. He is a fan."

Q&A

Hello! I'd love to get this for a friend's child (age 8 years) and I see you have it in a couple of items - a shirt with a collar and a sleeveless dress - but I don't think she likes either of those styles. Do you have any plans to do it in an ordinary T shirt or a twirl dress or anything like that for children? I hope so. Many thanks :)

Are sizes pretty. standard? Or do they run big or small?
The sizes are standard. The cotton does have some stretch to it.
I order the pants in large which is what I buy for all the dresses I ordered from you & the dress fit like a dream. The pants however were tight. The relaxed size was measured 31 inches & expanded was 44 inches. The measurements you list were larger. I am not sure if this pair was mismarked or if I just need to buy an XL. I almost want to exchange for a dress since I know it will fit. Please advise. Love your clothes. Carolyn

How much stretch is there in the waist? For example if the size chart says the waist is 45", but my waist is 46" would it fit me or should I size up?
It will fit you because the cotton does stretch enough! We normally recommend sizing down for our cotton garments when between sizes due to the stretch, though if you prefer a looser fit, then sizing up instead will be ideal.
Please tell me you are going to start carrying this pattern (seabed exploration) in the long tunic style?
