This one's for those of you who've followed litigation over literature over the years. Some of the greatest novels ever written have been challenged or banned from libraries and discussions for various reasons, most of which were uninformed or emotionally reactive. Banning books might seem like an outdated thing to worry about, but it's still happening to this very day and on a greater scale than most realize. Arm yourself against ignorance and help use the lessons of the past to lead us all to a better tomorrow!
Since we know it's important to keep everyone informed, here are some helpful resources that were provided to us by a wonderful librarian:
Banned & Frequently Challenged Books
ALA's Banned Books FAQ
Resources to Oppose the Challenges
NCAC (National Coalition Against Censorship) Book Challenge Resource Center
